The Cash App and Block failed to follow appropriate actions to control the unauthorized access and use of Cash App and Cash App Investing accounts and they were mishandled and failed to adequately settle customer complaints about unauthorized or fraudulent transactions from their accounts.
The officials are going to pay a maximum of $2,500 to fix up the allegations related to data breaches that happened between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024. The payout amount will be provided to all the qualifying individuals in late 2025 through the direct deposit or via physical check by mail.
Cash App Settlement Payout Date
In this lawsuit, it is alleges that Block, Inc. and Cash App Investing, LLC were carelessness, made misrepresentations, and breached many other obligations to their users because of a data security incident disclosed in April 2022 and a data security incident disclosed in October 2023, and made unauthorized or fraudulent withdrawals and transfers individuals funds from one to another accounts.
The settlement received a final approval from the court on January 13, 2025 at 9:30 AM PST. The settlement payout date is not disclosed by officials yet but it is expected that if there will be no further appeals scheduled then the qualifying individual will receive their settlement payout amount in late 2025.
Cash App Settlement Payment Amount
Individuals will be able to receive $25.00 hourly if they submit a claim form for reimbursement of Lost Time for more than three hours. Individuals who submitted a claim form for reimbursement for documented Transaction Losses can also expect to get their settlement funds.
Whereas, if an individual submitted a claim form for reimbursement of Out-of-Pocket Losses due to a Data Security Incident, Unauthorized Account Event, or transactions from their Cash App account or Cash App Investing account to another, occurring between August 23, 2018 to August 20, 2024 can expect to receive a maximum of $2,500.00 as a settlement payout.
Who will receive the Cash App Settlement Payout?
The eligibility requirements of cash app settlement are listed below.
- To qualify for cash app settlement payout, Applicants need to be present or former users of Cash App or Cash App Investing, and any of its affiliates, subsidiaries or parents.
- Individuals private details, Cash App account information, and Cash App Investing account details need to be accessed or gained without their legal permission.
- Candidates need to suffer with unauthorized or fraudulent withdrawals or transactions of amount from their accounts.
- Claimants need to suffer with insufficiency in the resolution of a mistake with their Cash App account or any connected financial account between August 23, 2018 to August 20, 2024.
- Submit a valid claim form before the claim form submission deadline of November 18, 2024 is compulsory to get a Cash App settlement payout.
- Having a United States permanent residency is crucial to qualify for this settlement.

If an eligible individual will not receive their Cash App settlement payout amount in time then they need to act upon the below listed instructions.
- Check or edit your settlement fund receiving method: Applicants need to check their refund settlement funds receiving method to be safe from unexpected delays. Individuals who selected a direct deposit fund receiving method can expect to receive their payout amount earlier than those who selected physical cheques by mail fund receiving method.
- Have Patience: In case of facing unexpected delays in getting your cash app settlement payout individuals need to have patience for at least four to five working days before contacting the officials.
