NFL Playoffs 2025 Format
The NFL playoffs run single elimination. The four division winners from any conference make the playoffs by record and receive a No. 1, 5 through No. 7, the three remaining teams in each conference with the best record qualify for the postseason as wild-card teams.
A wild-card club still gets a lower 5, 6, or 7 seed if its record beats that of a division winner. Every conference starts with a first-round bye for the top seed, who then plays all of their conference playoff games at home.
