Singapore Workfare Payout 2025: Payment Amount, Eligibility & Other Details!

Singapore’s Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) scheme saw significant enhancements in 2025, aimed to provide more and better financial assistance for lower-wage workers.

Self-employed persons and Platform workers are going to receive a maximum of $3,267 from 2025. The 10% Singapore Workfare Payout amount will be provided in cash whereas 90% in a MediSave account. 

There is no need to submit any application or claim form for receiving WIS if you are an employee or platform worker. Individuals will be considered eligible depending on the income announced by their employer or platform operator.

Singapore Workfare Payout 2025

Singapore’s Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) scheme is going to experience significant improvement in 2025, aimed to provide more financial assistance to the lower-wage workers. Singapore Workfare Increased Payout amounts for 2025 are listed below. 

  • Employees: From 01 January 2025, WIS payout amount for employees will be increased from $4,200 (40% cash, 60% in CPF)  to $4,900 annually (60% in CPF and 40% cash,).
  • Self-employed Individuals: From January 2025, annual payout amounts will be increased from $2,800 (10% cash, 90% in MediSave) to $3,267 (10% cash, 90% in MediSave). 
  • Platform workers (new category): From January 2025, monthly payout amounts will be increased by $3,267 annually (10% cash, 90% MediSave.

Who is eligible for Singapore Workfare Payout in 2025?

To get the benefit amount from Singapore Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) Scheme individuals need to satisfy the below listed eligibility requirements.

  • Candidates need to be a permanent resident of Singapore.
  • Applicants need to be 30 or above years old as of 31 December of the last work year.
  • To qualify for WIS, Individuals need to be an employee, self-employed person or platform worker.
  • Claimants monthly Gross income must be between $500 to $3,000. Whereas for married couples applicant’s partners’ assessable income need not be more than $70,000.
  • If an applicant is an employee or platform worker then their gross monthly income must not increase from $2,500 in the previous one year.
  • Candidates need to live in a property with an annual value not more than $21,000.
  • Single individuals do not need to have more than one property (for married couples,  applicants with a partner do not need to own more than one property.

How much you can get from Workfare in 2025?

The exact amount of WIS depends on the age and other eligibility requirements of applicants. The maximum annual payout amount of WIS are listed in the below table.

In 2025, the self-employed persons of the Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) will receive two thirds of the employee WIS payout amount that we listed in the above table.

How can you apply for Singapore Workfare in 2025?

Employees applicants do not need to submit any application form or other documents. If an individual will satisfy the eligibility requirements they will automatically receive their WIS in qualifying month. 

Individual WIS qualifying requirements will be automatically calculated based on the income proclaimed by their employer(s) for work that you did in that month.Whereas Self-employed persons need to show their income to IRAS and produce the necessary MediSave contributions.

From 2025, Platform workers will also not need to submit any application form to receive Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) payout. Individual eligibility will be automatically evaluated on their earnings revealed by their platform operator(s) for the work that you did in the qualifying month. 

Singapore Workfare Payout Schedule for 2025

In 2025, Singapore Workfare payout amounts will be provided to qualifying employees on a monthly basis but with a two-month delay. For instance,Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) payout for January 2025 will be delivered in End-March 2025. The WIS payout schedule for 2025 are listed in the below table.

Whereas for Self-Employed Persons (SEPs) WIS payment will be provided annually. Such individuals need to declare their Net Trade Income (NTI) and contribute to MediSave before March 31 of the upcoming year. For instance, to get WIS payout for work that you have done in 2024, declarations and contributions need to be finished before 31 March 2025.

Individuals will get their WIS later (after April of the upcoming work year) if they will not make their  income declaration and MediSave contribution on time. So, if an individual proclaims their income and makes the necessary MediSave contribution on time or before then they will receive your WIS earlier than usual.
