The application form from the UGC NET June 2025 is all set to be released with the notification, after its availability on the official website at https://exams.nta.ac.in/ each eligible and interested candidate will be able to apply. To apply, one has to provide details, attach documents and make fee payment.
The National Testing Agency held the University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test two times annually for the aspirants who want to be appointed as Assistant Professor in any college or university across the country, pursue PhD or get awarded with Junior Research Fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criterias for the UGC NET June 2025 is available below in terms of educational qualification and age limit.
Educational Qualification:
- One must have pursued a two-year Master’s degree in any subject with 55% score (50% for SC/ST/PH) as aggregate from an university recognized by the UGC to apply for AP (Assistant Professorship), JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) or PhD (Doctor of Philosophy).
- Individuals who have completed a four-year Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a university recognized by the UGC with at least 75% score as aggregate are eligible to apply only for PhD (Doctor of Philosophy).
Note: Individuals who are in the final year/semester of their Master’s or Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for UGC NET June 2025.
Age Limit:
- There is no cap of lower or upper age limit to apply for AP (Assistant Professorship) or PhD (Doctor of Philosophy)
- Incase of applying for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), one’s age shouldn’t be above 30 years, although the upper age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 5 years for SC/ST, with additional upper age relaxation for 10 years for PH.
Application Fee
To apply for the UGC NET June 2025, a candidate who belongs to UR category is required to deposit the application fee of ₹1,100/, those who belong to EWS or OBC (NCL) category need to pay ₹600/, the payable amount for SC, ST and PH category candidates is ₹325/.

Please clear that whether a BSc 4 year program student NET certificate which is valid for Ph.D. only, whether the same NET certificate will be valid for Lectureship, if he/she clear the Masters degree in future.
