UPSC CAPF AC 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are interested in applying for the UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2025 for appointment of Assistant Commandant under the CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, or AC may check the eligibility criterias from below.

  • Nationality: A candidate must be a permanent resident of India.
  • Educational Qualification: An individual must have pursued a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a university recognised by the UGC.
  • Age Limit: One’s age shouldn’t be below 21 years and above 25 years as of August 01, 2025.
  • Physical Requirement: 
    • Male: Height – 165 cm, Chest – 81 cm (with 5 cm expansion).
    • Female: Height – 157 cm, Chest – not applicable.
  • Vision Standards: Without glasses: 6/6 or 6/9 in the better eye and 6/12 or 6/9 in the worse eye.

Note: The upper age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 5 years for SC and ST. Additionally, the upper age relaxation is applicable for 10 years for PwBD.

UPSC CAPF AC 2025 Application Fee 

In order to apply for the UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2025, a male candidate who belongs to Unreserved or Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) is required to pay ₹200/-. All female aspirants, and male individuals who belong to Scheduled Tribes or Scheduled Caste are exempted from the payment of the application fee.

UPSC CAPF AC 2025 Selection Process 

The selection process for recruitment of Assistant Commandant for the Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and Sashastra Seema Bal consists of multiple stages, which are Written Exam, Physical Endurance Test & Medical Examination and Interview. 

1). Written Exam:

Paper 1: General Ability & Intelligence

  • Mode: Offline (OMR-Based)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Total Questions: 125
  • Maximum Marks: 250
  • Question Type: Objective
  • Marking Scheme: +2 for correct answer, -0.66 for incorrect answer (1/3rd negative marking)
  • Sections: General Mental Ability, General Science, Current Events, Indian Polity & Economy, History, Geography
  • Medium: English & Hindi

Paper 2: General Studies, Essay & Comprehension

  • Mode: Offline (Pen & Paper)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Maximum Marks: 200
  • Question Type: Descriptive (Essay Writing, Precis, Comprehension, and Grammar)

2). Physical Endurance Test & Medical Examination:

  • 800m Run: Male – 3 min 45 sec | Female – 4 min 45 sec
  • Long Jump (3 chances): Male – 3.5m | Female – 3m
  • Shot Put (7.26kg) (Only for Males): 4.5m

Medical Examination

  • Vision: 6/6 or 6/9 (better eye), 6/12 or 6/9 (worse eye)
  • Hearing: Normal
  • Blood Pressure: Within normal limits
  • Disqualifications: Knock Knee, Flat Foot, Varicose Veins
  • BMI & Weight: Proportionate to height & age
  • Tattoos: Allowed on inner forearm/non-saluting hand (cultural acceptance)
