What’s the Verizon Class Action Settlement about?
The class action lawsuit giants Verizon Wireless was filed by the current and former Verizon customers alleging the company has misled the customers into paying administrative charges. The plaintiff claims the company advertised and presented the post-paid wireless services plan in a deceptive way as they did not mention the administrative charges in the plan.
So, Verizon customers who bought the postpaid wireless plan paid the monthly fees more than they expected in the name of administrative charges. The lawsuit also claims the company increased the charges in a deceptive manner, which led to customers paying more.
The defendants and plaintiff agreed to resolve the class action lawsuit earlier this year with a $100 million settlement fund. Though Verizon denied the allegations of deceptive practices and says they have the right to increase the charges.
